I wanted to like this book, and some of it is good. However, I have a big problem with the author suggesting the child can "eat" to " feel ok" if they are scared... not a great lesson for kids. Also there is a glaring typo at the end of our book where a word is wri then and printed twice by accident. No proof read? Ugh.

My 5 year old has been having some anxiety and excessive worry lately over numerous things like worrying about thunderstorms, tornados, rockets going up (we live on the Spacecoast so it occurs a few times a month) and even scorpions. It seems as though she hears someone say something, sees a commercial, etc and then she just latches on to this idea until she can't sleep. She starting asking me before bed about if there would be a rocket tomorrow or a tornado, do scorpions live here etc. I bought this book in the hopes that she would indeed utilize this mantra. I am happy to report that it seems to be working! Whenever she is worried about something, I make sure that we read this book before bed. She reads along out loud as I read the line, "I will be okay." I think she likes the idea of "reading" as much as I like the idea of getting this idea through to her! I definitly recommend this book

My son has emotional up and downs. This book and the rest in the series are SO amazing at helping him we sent them for show and tell. The teachers REALLY loved them!

In general, I really like this book. I love the concept and it is helpful to my son, who tends to overreact and have trouble self-regulating. Other readers have mentioned the glaring error at the end and it bothered me immensely at first. To be fair, I'm an editor, so I have trouble turning that criticism off. I just took a pencil to my copy and made a couple adjustments. Never too early for my kids to learn proofreading marks! LOL! BUT, as another reader also mentioned, I'm really concerned that it says something like, "eating always makes things better." I understand where the author is coming from - some kids really benefit from regular healthy snacks, especially protein, to stay regulated. Hangry is a real thing. A good snack is one of my go-to tools for one of my kids. But the way the book puts it, it doesn't sit right with me. Too many families struggle with eating disorders for this to be mentioned so flippantly. We still read this book and (mostly) enjoy it. My son asks for it when he's struggling with something. The team working on these books has a good thing going.

I was looking for a book at would address my daughter’s anxiety around meeting new kids and being at preschool. There were pages specific to that in addition to being upset when a babysitter came and your parents leave. All very applicable and easy to speak to. She was excited to learn the “okay” sign and I hear her going around the house saying “I’m okay” and doing the sign. Hope she can apply it when she needs to. I ordered another book in the series too.

My son had a rough start to his kindergarten year. He never wanted me to leave when I dropped him off and cried When I did have to leave. (It broke my heart) He never wanted to join his class at circle time. He always said it’s “ too much”.After purchasing this book and reading it a few times with him I think he started to get it, I think he knew he would be OK. He started going in to his class on his own and stopped crying, and now he is finally joining the class at circle or group times. I really believed this book helped. 👍

All of these ( Mantras) book are wonderful to teach young children their feeling are OK, everybody has them too, and how one may handle a problem ! Great for parents, grandparents and teachers!

Being a 13 year old, I was hesitant to read this at first. I am a very anxious person, to the point where I can’t even sleep alone! Reading this book was one of the best decisions I have ever made, it gives me great tiles on how to cope and understand that what I am feeling does not make me a bad person. I would definitely recommend this book.

Another hit. Explains and gives positive and helpful advice to deal with anxiety. This, and her book for younger children, should be required for anyone who is anxious, no matter what their age. The exercises are great for All ages. Should be required reading !

Written in layman's terms so easily understood. In today's society, some kids are faced with daily stresses in their home life due to peer pressure, family member in the military or public service, and they constantly worry about "things" which eventually can affect their everyday life. This book is written in a way where past toddler stage the kids can get a grasp in dealing with their worries. I have a grandson with Asperger's and he has anxiety issues when his routine has changed or is faced with something "new and unfamiliar". This book is written in a way that he can read it and understand how to control his worrisome issues, plus the author has guidelines for adults to help. I highly recommend this book for kids who deal with worrying and can have a meltdown due to it as an aide to help them deal with and control their anxieties. It's an informative and easy read.

great book for my 9yr old and I to read together to learn about coping with anxiety. well written, witty and funny at times. my son enjoyed reading it with me an together we learned new vocabulary and tricks to help with anxiety. highly recommend to kids about age 7-13.

I purchased this book for my 9 year old granddaughter. She is anxious and worries about things all the time. I received and read this book today. I felt like the author had met my granddaughter and was using her as the subject for her book! It is written on a level she will easily understand. Thanks to the author, I can’t wait to share it with my granddaughter and see how quickly her anxiety and worry goes away.

This is one of the best I've read on the topic. Easy for a teen to understand.

I read this book to my third grade class and then I recommended it to all their parents because there are so many ideas that I really think it would benefit the students to hear it again and will absolutely help the parents as they read and discuss it together. So many students (and parents) suffer from anxiety that I just had to help them and I think this book really hit the mark! We all have a common language and they're hearing the same verbiage at school as they do at home for those that bought it and are using it at home too. Students in my class even use it with each other. I'll hear one student say to another, "It's okay, you're not in danger, but your brain is trying to play tricks on you. Don't let it." SO COOL!!

Love this book. Dawn Huebner has another winner on her hands. Clever, engaging, and evidence based techniques. Highly recommend.

My daughter loves this book. Its easy to read for beginners (she's 4) and it's sparkly and has genies and mermaids in it = success

You had to have seen the cartoon to know what the book was about, otherwise it made no sense.

The kid loves the book. She used all the stickers right away. The story is a simple and quick read, but is interesting enough to repeat and enjoy it again. The art is cute, and yes, it is sparkly! The stickers look very sparkly and cute.

My younger granddaughter loved this so much! This is very eye catching & makes children want to investigate inside. Really cute! Good for preschool preparedness.

The photo prints are of superb quality and the quotations are well matched. My personal favorite quote is found on page 128, next to an image of a cluster of Massive Infant Stars: "I find it as difficult to understand a scientist who does not acknowledge the presence of a superior rationality behind the existence of the universe as it is to comprehend a theologian who would deny the advances of science. How fantastic to see all those galaxies--and the wonder, intelligence, and courage of real people to take them---and for us to know that they are REAL, and not imaginary! Thank you!!!

No matter what your religious beliefs, you will be stunned by the deep space photographs in this book. The quotes are thoughtful and very deep - it is a very positive book in so many ways. If any house guests pick it up, they will want to take it home with them - so buy a couple extra!

I don't think - as an author myself - this is the kind of books that will become best-sellers because they are too technical but for me, these are the books that made a real difference in my work as an OD-professional.So thanks a lot ... I enjoyed this book and appreciate the openess of the authors (because it's it not a "if you want to know more, follow our training or hire us book).

I've been managing projects and programmes for years. I've read alot of books on Agile and Scrum. This book would rate amongst the best in my collection for a few reasons:- It's logically laid out, it follows a very logical flow- The images and diagrams help demonstrate key points- It backs up all concepts with clear reasoning and logicIf you're a PM who has done a bit of Agile and Scrum before and you've become interested in SAFe, I would strongly recommend buying this book. Many of SAFe's concepts are universal in project management but it goes some ways towards filling in many blanks left by Scrum and Kanban whilst building on their core concepts beautfully.

This book is beyond exposure, it takes you to the higher level, an in-depth understanding of SAFe transformation. In addition to the soft copy, I decided to by this book and it worth the investment. My SAFe knowledge has increased tremendously and so also is my interview response. I will recommend it for anyone from novice to pro that is searching for added knowledge
