A great introduction into gold, silver, and rare coin investing. The author really seems to know what he's talking about. If you're interested in learning more about gold, silver, and rare coin investing (which I knew nothing about before reading this book), then this book is a great place to start. Would highly recommend it.

An extremely great instructional manual. Information has been very helpful, but there is no table of contents and no page numbers (how hard would it be?). Very, very helpful, just disorganized.

Wow, this book is full of information that I just don’t know where I could have found anywhere else. It gives explicit directions on where to find silver, gold and rare coins to buy and how to negotiate a fair price for them. Best of all, it shows you a variety of methods for determining whether or not the precious metals are real or not, so you don’t have to waste time or money dealing with frauds. I say this book is the ideal guide for anyone who would like to get started with investing in these valuable items but who isn’t exactly sure of where they should begin.The pictures in this guide are impeccable, making it easy to see the markings that the author is referring to on each and every piece. It also gives trustworthy outside sources for finding more information on the individual markets and credible manufacturers to work with. There’s a whole chapter on how to stay out of trouble with the IRS when you’re buying and selling gold and silver too, which is especially useful if you’ve never had to worry about that sort of thing before. Lately I have read numerous graphic novels and this one (Muhammad Ali: the king of the ring written by Lewis Helfand and illustrated by Lalit Kumar Sharma) is one of the best graphic novels I have read the last few months. I am always on the lookout for books on great people and anything to do with combat sports like boxing. The writer and illustrator really did a fantastic job of telling the story of one of the greatest boxers in history, Muhammad Ali.This 92 page volume begins when a young Cassius Clay back in Louisville, Kentucky got his bicycle stolen. He approached an officer to report the incident and the officer also taught boxing in a gym. This began his introduction to what has been called “the sweet science.” Even though many trainers at that time did not think young Cassius had much of a future in boxing; nevertheless, he had a work ethic and determination that would never give up. He trained longer and harder than any other boxer in the gym. After winning numerous amateur matches he went on the win a Gold Medal for boxing at the Olympics. After that Cassius Clay began his pro-boxing career. This book not only goes into his boxing career but also covers his personal life and his adoption of the Black Muslim religion when he changed his name to Muhammad Ali.If you are seeking a concise and fully illustrated biography of a great American and worth heavy weight champion of the world, you should check out this excellent graphic novel.Rating: 5 Stars. It's not only that Ali's life is vibrant and full of exciting material, but it's also that Lewis Helfand and Lalit Kumar Sharma, script writer and illustrator, respectively, have done a magnificent job in presenting the life of Ali matching the same vibrancy and excitement that characterized his life. This comprehensive story includes his childhood, his early training as a boxer, winning the gold medal in the 1960 Olympics, his struggle with racism, his ascendency toward professional boxing champ, his controversial decision to become a member of the Nation of Islam, his refusal to go to Viet Nam, his comeback, all his exciting fights with Liston, Norton, and Foreman, and the years after his retirement. Helfand also does a nice job in including the race issue and the Nation of Islam decision while still focusing on Ali the boxer. This is not an ordinary graphic text just showing a string of events. The narrative is communicated with poignancy; there is feeling to the story of Ali as it is managed by Helfand. The illustrator doesn't stay behind. I particularly liked the different headlines incorporated into the story on a few occasions, condensing important information in one panel. The text also stresses on the positive, Ali's contributions not only to boxing, but also out of the realm of boxing. Even though I belong to the period when Ali was at the peak of his career, I certainly learned a lot of new things about his life during every one of its crucial and poignant moments. This graphic biography certainly deserves a 5 thumbs up.

This book includes some solid details that would be useful for upper elementary and maybe middle grades. It's pretty wordy, so kids may get bored of the reading, but it's great for teaching and the projects are interesting.

My 9 year old is very interested in history and this is a great book to read together to learn about some Native American History.

For many purists of the series who never liked the idea of modifying the original text for an American audience, this is a good thing. Good or bad is naturally for each reader to decide--just know, if you plan to read the books while listening to Jim Dale's audiobooks, you'll notice a few superficial differences.The quality of this new illustrated edition is phenomenal. I've been excited about the release of this book since it was announced, but I never expected the book as a whole to be so well crafted.A couple of things to note:1. Underneath the book jacket, the novel is bound in a sturdy red hardback with gold lettering on the spine.2. The paper is thick with an eggshell glossy finish.3. All chapter intros are illustrated.4. Some images take up full pages or multiple pages. Most illustrations share the page with text.5. Every inch of the book is illustrated or decorated in some fashion. There are NO white pages in the book. Even the pages without large illustrations have the paper printed and marked with ink blots or paper "stains".I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to read the series (again, or for the first time), especially if you plan to read this with someone younger. If this book is a demonstration of what is to come with the illustrated editions for the rest of the series, we're all in for six more impeccable treats.

I LOVE THE STORY. Illustrations are great. PROBLEM is that the book came missing pages 153-168 because 137-152 were printed twice. It took me a week to realize this. You will want to check your books. I'm sure Amazon will take care of me but thank goodness I wasn't gifting this.

These illustrated editions of Harry Potter were done right! All of the original text is there and the artwork is beautiful. Every page has something, whether it's an illustration that takes up a full double page spread, a little drawing in the corner, a thematic border, or just a visually textured background. It may sound chaotic, like the visuals could be too much and break up the flow of reading but it is not; it enhances the story as you turn the pages and delight in the new visuals that each page brings. I imagine these would be a great way to bring children into the story, but they're so nice you may want to protect and collect these beauties. I can't wait for them to release the others.

I think this is my third reading of the Harry Potter series. The first time is a precious memory to me. Our four children would all climb into our king size bed before bedtime and we would read one or two chapters each evening. We homeschooled so, as each child's reading progressed, they read a part too. Their mom died. They're in late 20s now. Five grandkids. Those will be ready to read to before we know it. But life is not always neatly packaged. I married a widow and moved us all. Today they are off to their own lives. My four and I are scattered across four states and even overseas. So, I'm reading to myself now. I can't make a stronger recommendation than to say that I immediately purchased "The Order Of The Phoenix" after finishing this one. I also have the set in hardbound on the bookshelf beside me. But Kindle is just too convenient. *smile*

My husband tried to surprise me with this order, but we share the amazon account ;)I WAS surprised though, because I didn’t realize it would be textbook size with all these amazing scenes drawn out. They’re AH-MAY-ZING drawings!! If you love Harry Potter, you will love these books. For some reason, hubs couldn’t find the first and second of the series (I did ;p) so he bought the third first, but we know the stories by heart so it doesn’t matter to me. I hope they put out all of them! It almost feels like how I felt waiting for the actual series to come out.

This is the Chinese New Year book to read to a child's preschool class. I wanted to read one for a "family share day" and basically bought all of them from Amazon looking for an appropriate one. I thought it was going to be Bringing in the New Year by Grace Lin, but that book was totally not well suited (it just kept repeating "where is the new year? is it here yet?" and the like, which isn't particularly insightful, and focused a bit too much on money). This book is the perfect representation of Chinese New Year traditions, without too much a focus on money and spirits and luck. It also has enough text to read aloud, but not too much.

It's ok book in terms of story. I bought the Kindle version, and it isn't the best I've seen, a bit difficult to read...small font. When you press on it, you can increase the font, but it doesn't work very well. For the price, it's not worth it.

My kids love this book. I brought it to their classroom, read to them, they all like it. Great for Chinese New Year presentation.

The text was done very well to help the reader get a real sense of what Chinese New Year is all about. The cartoon illustrations are nice as well.

Kids loved it.

A great book for 4-6 ro 7 year old children to explore the colors and sounds of Chinese New Year. Very educational.

My grandson enjoyed this.
