The island dotes on long-held wedding traditions, including romantic moongates (kiss beneath one and a long marriage is assured), horse-drawn carriages, his-and-hers gold and silver cakes, and locations like historic churches, public gardens, clifftops, and beaches that promise highly memorable nuptials.Scores of visitors get married in Bermuda every year, so everyone—from local wedding planners to clergy and hotel staff—is ready to ease prospective brides and grooms through the process. Many guesthouses and hotels have special wedding packages, churches offer chaplains for off-site locations, and even Bermuda’s sometimes burdensome bureaucracy has honed the business of getting married into a painless to-do list.Couples must have their “Notice of Intended Marriage” published in Bermuda’s newspapers. You can download the form from gotobermuda.com (must be printed on white legal-size paper, 8.5 by 14 inches) or request one from the Registry General (Government Administration Building, 30 Parliament St., Hamilton HM 12, tel. 441/297-7709 or 441/297-7707, registrygeneral.gov.bm). Thank goddess I bought this book! The other book I purchased (based on decent reviews) was actually terrible, so it was a good thing I am the type who likes to have a "Plan B." If I hadn't also had this one with me I would have been lost. Well, ok, maybe not lost, as I was staying at a very nice resort with very helpful staff, but this book helped a great deal as I like to be independent and make decisions on the fly. We learned what we needed and found the information we wanted. The book is professional (who would think you need to say this?) and comprehensive. Thank you for doing this right; I was not familiar with "Moon" books, but it is good to know another travel guide company. Bermuda was beautiful - I recommend it, and I recommend this book.

Her slightly offbeat sense of humor shines through both in her illustrating cartoons and in many charming asides.The book is in the nature of an invitation and also an introduction, and one of its great virtues is the way is consistently invites the reader forward to learn more. Whether by identifying other books to study (the writings of John Seymour) or listing useful online resources, Ms. Sidney welcomes the reader into an ongoing process of learning more and living better. Few readers will follow her to every destination she reaches, but all of us could surely benefit by following her to some.

I gave 5 stars considering the fact that I am usually a book reader unless I am interested in the readings. Being able to read is also easier on the electronic tablet since I do not have some bulky object to hold and flip through. I am wanting to learn more than I know so I can see that my seizures are not giving me less memory. Sometimes, it feels like I am becoming less intelligent, but that could also be the fact of a lot I learned in this book and the lack of reading educational texts, etc. Thank you for the excellent information Franz.

This book has very sound advice however I feel this is geared towards people who know absolutely nothing about how to handle their finances, self reliance or willpower/limiting oneself. I'm glad it was free when I purchased it, because unless you're completely clueless, this book won't be of very much help.

This has many great ideas and how to implement them. I am wanting to go back to basic principles and this book gave me wonderful insight on how I can begin and continue to do that. Probably not much information for someone who has been "homesteading" for awhile already.

Life today can be complicated, sophisticated and largely technology based, so much so that we often get swept along in a fast flowing stream that can be hard to escape. "Back to Basics" brings us back to a down-to-earth reality that many of us miss - I certainly do. The language is easy to understand and basic principles and ideas are set out in a common sense way that makes us feel that life can be enjoyed in simple ways within our income and with peace of mind. It would be a great asset to every household.

Good book, there were one or two things that I wouldn't do (like add food coloring to soap)but a lot of chapters were on debt and debt management and that was GREAT!!! The best thing that anybody in this world can do is to get out of debt and stay out of debt.It's a beginner type book, as it says it is "Back to Basics" and we all (no matter how long we've been at it) need a refresher now and then.

This book is filled with excellent money saving tips.In today's economy,we need all the help we can get.It helps to learn the return policies of your favorite stores. An impulse purchase can almost always be returned.

Naples and the Amalfi Coast are two of my favorite places to visit and I will be visiting them again very soon. I love to be able to read on my iPad about the Naples and the Amalfi Coast. Of course they advised not to visit between June and August because of the hot weather. There is also information about clothes to bring as well as hand sanitizer. There is information on Naples and the history of this city, plus Pompeii. It is a very good guide book for Naples and I recommend it to the casual tourist.

I think this is one of the best informative travel guide I have purchased. The details of the length of travel from different location is good to know as are the etiquette tips for walking or driving around the area. Italy is one the location that my wife and I would like to travel to within the next few years since our youngest is going off to college and looking for a location for nice vacation just the two of us. About the Author

Owen Jones was an architect and designer who taught at the South Kensington School of Design, London, during the 1850s and served as joint architect of the Great Exhibition of 1851. The following year he was appointed Director of Decorations for the new Crystal Palace exhibition in Sydenham, south London. The Grammar of Ornament, his legacy to designers, quickly acquired the status of a classic. He died in 1874. Iain Zaczek, who has contributed the commentaries, is an art historian who graduated from Wadham College, Oxford University, and the Courtauld Institute, London. He has written on a wide variety of topics, but his special interest is in nineteenth-century art. He is the author of The Essential William Morris, The Essential Art Deco, and The Art of Illuminated Manuscripts.

Be warned that there are no illustrations whatsoever in the paperback edition of this book published by General Books. There's really no point to this book without the illustrations. The item description is not clear at all and does not specify that there are no color plates in the paperback. The item description is for a digital version of the book and the "look inside" is for a full color edition. These need to be listed as separate items to avoid confusion.

I expected more, but I guess it was a great work in its time.Considering it is a reprint of a very old book, the text could have done with enlarging just prior to being printed.I cannot read it without high-powered glasses-seriously! The page size & text size is tiny!I'll have a better opinion once I've magnified the interesting sections, but I don't have the time or inclination ro do that at the moment. I bought it as a bedside book to read in the evenings, to also study a bit, but the text is frankly too tiny to enjoy, even a leisurely glance.The two stars are in anticipation of me enjoying the rest of the content when I get to see it.The minus three is because of the text size. Maybe two-an-a-half each way might have been fairer-but the print is still too small for my middle-aged eyes which normally don't need glasses.

The book was exactly as described. It is just a badly reproduced copy of the original and as far as I can tell, there aremissing pages, as well as badly reproduced and blurry plates. All black and white, no color. I am extremely disappointed.I would not have bought this if I had actually seen a copy first.

Before purchasing I would have wanted to know that:This was an OCR scan copy and that the OCR is full of garbage pages.This doesn't contain any of the COLOUR prints for which this book is so well known.This doesn't contain ANY prints at all - and is consequently utterly devoid of purpose.A truly comprehensive gutting of an important design work, a visual reference without any visuals, a waste of paper. Congratulations Amazon.

There is no better book for a resource library than this one. So it was important to get as good a copy of this out of print as I could find. I wasn't disappointed and neither was the young man who received it. Thanks!!

Very few images, and those were small in size. It had been touted as a defining book. There are other books if you want a description of the jewelry of the times.

This beautiful book is a must-have for people who love and appreciate art and architecture. It is truly a treasure.

The book was somewhat damaged when I received it and was not what I thought it was. It was described as a used item, so I didn't complain.
